Empowering means making someone more confident, feeling more in power and in charge of one’s life, choices and results. Unfortunately, this is not the current paradigm we live in. Most of the technologies are so deeply integrated into our daily routine that we become addicted, dependent and by the end of the day powerless and depressed. Digital products control our data and manipulate our choices, notifications disrupt our focus and interrupt even the most meaningful moments

When we invented the internet it was clumsy and confusing. We needed to come up with rules of usability to increase its utility. Companies started gathering a tremendous amount of personal data and optimizing interfaces and experiences. But it’s all went down the hill when this data started to power higher engagement to optimize profits. How can we make the user to spend more hours inside the app, how to increase average check and sell things that the user wouldn’t buy…
